In the United States of America, escaping a prison after being convicted is a crime. However, nothing is stated as to what should happen and whether/whether not it's considered a serious offense if you prove that you are innocent.
In some cases, this has happened:
- Person is found guilty and is convicted
- Person escapes jail
- While being a fugitive, person proves that he/she is innocent
- Charges are dropped, person goes on with daily life
And in other cases, this has happened:
- Person is found guilty and is convicted
- Person escapes jail
- While being a fugitive, person proves that he/she is innocent
- Person has been found innocent of initial crime, but since escaping is a crime, person is convicted to x jailtime
Anything?
i dont see y u would need to escape to prove ur innocent. u should of had enough time to prove ur innocent in court, before u got convicted. so yes if u escape from prison then u need to be punished for it. but again, if they get convicted while innocent either they failed or the system did.
If they escape from jail but prove that there innocent then they should be completely free. An depending on how long they have been in jail should be given some money till there back on there feet. That is some of the things our system is missing well in my opinion anyway.
If you cannot add me to MSN, or if I am not online sending me a PM or a vistor message is the best way to get an answer from me, or we can try to set up an MSN meeting, or talk on skype etc etc.
American Law in some cases is golden, others it sucks.
In this case, I'd say even if they are innocent, they are still in jail and escaping is a crime in itself, so once they escape even if they were innocent the previous, now they are real fugitives for escaping.
Either way it's a lose-lose.
