    Hey Mark,

I'll try to keep this short, Becoming a better player in WoW requirest 3 things.

    1. Experience - Try as much of the stuff you can, meet people join dungeon - raid - bg. You'll see how people play.

    2. Addons - "Almost" Every pro WoW play is lesser then they are without their addons - my main is a healer and if i should say so my self it a good one, most of the time i hit 2nd place healing in 25man raids (Priest disc/holy speced), what made me this good is my healing and called VuDoo (healing grid addon) - its just one click healing. Another addons that helped me is Recount - When I was shadow speced a entered a dungeon with another shadow speced priest and his dps was hitting 7k+ so what I done was i check what the main spell he used was through recount and practised on a rotations which in the end boosted my 3k dps to 4.5k.

    3. Have FUN! - Nothing having fun mean you not enjoying your self which mean you'll never learn the game's basic/advance/pro skills.

Hope this gave you a bit of a guidance

Nythin is pretty dead on, also when you get higher up in raiding and the such, you can check elitistjerks.com for a full guide to your class. Also i'm considering adding a few guids about lvling, where to go, what to do speccing for raids, dungeons, roles, maxing dps stats etc etc etc.

You gonna do disc or holy guide? Also gonna include an arena disc or shadow priest guide? LOTS of openings here, no point in stepping on each other's toes :P

Yes only disc and holy (PVE), I've not been in arena much with my priest therefore my knowledge on that that kinda low and haven't played shadow spec to its depths so therefore I won't be doing a shadow guide. Feel free to do 'em looking forward to them.
