Thread: Hearts Guide Part 1. Passing in hearts

In my opinion,the most important and the hardest thing to do in hearts is to pass well. I play my hand based on a strategy that i chose before i make the pass.

In this guide you will learn how to pass in hearts.I will show some pictures i made in few games of hearts i played,and explain why i chosed to pass like that.


This is a very easy pass in my opinion. We pass a medium heart that we can cover(in this case the Jack,witch can be covered with the Ace) and we pass the 2 clubs we have(Ace and Queen). I decide to play 2 clubs instead of 2 diamonds because we are scared of Ace,King or even Queen of spades.
In case we get both Ace and King(and no club),we can dump one of them,and the guy in our left have the Ace of clubs.He can take(in case he don't have the 2) the 2 of clubs and play a spade,because most likely he wont have the queen of hearts in this situation.If we get the Queen of spades its still good,because we have a chance to dump it on the first club.



This is another easy pass.I am passing the only heart I have(because I dont want to take 4 points with it and I dont want him to shot) and 2 clubs,because I have the 3 of diamonds,witch allows me to control diamonds suits easyer.



This is a situation where you must try to shot the moon.In case you dont recive any hearts you will most likely shoot. In case you do recive one,you can escape taking the queen by playing everything until you have spades left(all others but yours are dumped) and that heart.Then you play that heart and dump the queen(you can wait if you wanna aim or you can punish him for stoping you:P). The Big decision here would be the 3rd card to play(except the q 10 hearts). I chosed to pass the 2 of diamonds because i would like to let them be ahead at the beggining(to take the 2 of clubs and play whatever...)



Here i pass the queen of spades(because i dont have enough backers) a medium heart and the 2 of clubs.Well the hardest thing is to pass the 2 of clubs here.If i would pass Q of spades and both hearts,i would have 2 and 3 of clubs. In case i would recive a big club(or even worse,2 or 3),i would not know when to play the 3 to help Badx dump the queen and aim for one of those 2. I always like to control the game,i dont like playing on luck.Another advantage of playing the 2 of clubs here is: If i would recive A or K of spades with no clubs(or one) i would have a suit where i could dump them easyer than if i would have another club.



I dont pass a heart here because i can cover the king and i dont have any clubs left.My strategy here is to break hearts as soon as posible,as i have a very good hand.(Basically you dont have to worry about the queen ,you only have to worry about a shot).



Nothing tricky here,just pass 2 diamonds because on clubs you are safe with 3 4 5 6



This is a safe-shot pass.In case you dont recive any hearts,you can shot the moon.if you do recive a heart,you have the biggest spades to break the guy with the queen. I also play both of the hearts because i dont want to take points with them.if you want to be safer,you can also pass the 10 of diamonds,its almost the same thing



Medium heart and 2 clubs.The tricky thing is to chose witch clubs.i always keep the big club to control the game.if i would recive the queen here,i could take the 2 of clubs and load the last club(in case i would not recive any clubs).this way i would have a suit where i could dump the queen.The truth is that you got advantage this way no matter what cards you recive from the pass. (You can challenge me and say any pass posible and i will tell you why:P)



I pass the diamonds to control the game.i want the AQ of clubs to take the 2 of clubs and get rid of all suits except the spades to dump the queen easyer.No need to pass a heart here,you can control it beacause you have 2 big clubs and most of the big spades.I would play all spades as well,till i get rid of everything



Easy pass here.The only thing is on clubs as well.As you learned already,its best to keep the big club to take control of the game. You can play the ace and after the 3 of clubs(if you recive the queen),you can take with the ace and start loading spades,you can do everything as long as you control the game.



Tricky pass! I only have 2 backers here(10 and 9).If i would recive any big spades,i want a suit where i can dump them.in this case the only1 posible its the diamonds one.I apss a medium and a club(you can pass 2 hearts as well,it would still be good).As you can see,i keep the Q of clubs here,so i have a chance to control the game



Very HARD pass here. I have a crap,a damn bad hand here.I try a shot,while trying to be safe...I decide to keep the queen of clubs(to try to control the 1st suit,but it will most likely fail to the ace or king).The reason i keep the king of spades is because i am pasing in my right,and its better to have it as its less likely that she have the queen after the pass.Also,there is nto a good idea to pass diamonds,because you would stil be in a terrible shape on them.



Medium heart and get rid of a suit(in this case diamonds) to can dump any big spades if posible.



Lets see here...Its obviosly we ahve the pass the queen.BUT we are pasing in our right,so we can keep the king,as it give us a huge advantage. Also,we have a crap diamonds suit.I want that the guy who gets the queen to have a diamond suit as well,so i pass 2 diamonds,to be sure i dont take the queen on diamonds.I also keep the ace of diamonds in case i have a feeling he try a shot. This way i control the game,while i am keeping myself out of troubles.



We have very bad clubs and diamonds suits here,so i decide to get rid of one of them(diamonds,as i have 2 of them)[this way i have a suit where i can dump the king of spades,witch i decide to keep in case i get the queen.(not playing at luck:P)] and a medium heart to control a posible shot from her.

So many situations .....

want to make a guide when your definitely screwd ( Have no spades at strt pass the hearts/diamonds or w.e and someone passes you Q of spades)

Good situation darandomfool. It often happends that you dont have enoguh backers(2,1 or none spades) at the beggining. But in this situation is less likely to recive the queen.Why? because there are 13 spades out there. most likely each of them have 4-5 spades in his hand. That means they have enought bakers to keep the queen and the AK.

I thought you wanted hearts not spades?

Q of spades is the msot important ard in hearts.Spades are very important in hearts

Shouldnt HEARTS be important in HEARTS?
