    Ultimate Pure Guide: Range 2h

    The Range 2h Pure Guide.

Why should I choose range 2h?

Simply because, itís surprising, someone can be fooled into thinking youíre just a range pure, and then bam, once youív gotten there health down, you switch to the 2h, and they get owned.

    Levelling:

    Attack: Up to 40

Strength: Keep it the same as your range level. Later on youíll most likely want to have a higher strength then range though.

Defence: 1. Iím only going to say this once. DONíT LEVEL DEFENCE!

Ranged: Level it the same as strength.

Mage: Getting your magic level to 25 is optional if you want to teleport to Varrock.

    Prayer: Not recommended.

    Youíll want money making levels.

    Choosing a name:

Try to choose a name that doesnít show that youíre a range 2h, try and make it seem like youíre just a range pure, it can help distract some enemies.

    Training:

    Levels 1-10:

    Cows

Cows get you 32/34 experience and drop cowhides, there highest hit is 10, and the best way to kill them is by changing the language to Germany so that there isnít many people online, and going to the Lumbridge spot. (Sadly, this way is not bot-able)

    Levels 10-30

    Minotaurs

Minotaurs can be found in the strong hold of security Ė first floor. They give a total of experience and drop iron arrows. There highest hit is 24. They give 53 exp per kill. There is a barricade you can hide from them.

    Monks

Monks are a good place to train as you donít need to bring food. There max hit is 10 and 60 exp when killed. Sadly they can only be found in the monastery (But you can use the language change method).

    Levels 30-60

    Flesh Crawlers

This can be a long and boring task, but itís easily the fastest way to level at the moment. Fresh Crawlers have a max hit of 10, and give out 100 exp per kill. They donít have any good drops though. Flesh Crawlers are also the best way to get 99 strength.

    Levels 60+

    Lesser Demons:

Lessers are a good training spot for high level rangers, as there are a bunch of safe spotís that youíll find on this guide (Soon). They have a max hit of 80 and give 316 exp per kill. Lesser Demons can drop rune med helms and fire runes.

    Range Equipment

    • Coif
    • Leather Body
    • Amulet Of Power
    • Green D'Hide Chaps (when 40 Range) If not 40 ranged, then just wear studded or leather.
    • Green D'Hide Vambraces (when 40 Range) If not 40 ranged, then just wear studded or leather.
    • The highest bow you can wield
    • Bronze/Iron Arrows (Training)
    • Trout/Salmon/Tuna
    • Varrock Tele Runes (optional)

    Melee Equipment
    • Iron full helm
    • Iron Plate Body
    • Green D'hide Chaps (when 40 range) If not 40 ranged, then just wear studded or leather.
    • Green D'hide Vambraces (when 40 Range) If not 40 ranged, then just wear studded or leather.
    • The highest scimitar you can wield
    • Trout/Salmon/Tuna
    • Varrock Tele Runes (optional)

    Let's PK

What should you know about PKing?

    • You can only get attacked by people within your combat level. There is certain levels in the wilderness, and for example, if you're in level 10 Wilderness, if you're level 25, you can get attacked by people level 15-35.
    • If you're the first to get attack you'll get a skull on your head, if so, you will lose everything you have. If not you will keep your 3 most valuable items.

    Pking Equipment

    • Food: Sword Fish (60+) Lobster (30+) Tuna (<30)
    • Finisher (2h): Whatever one you can equip (preferably rune)
    • Shortbow: Whatever one you can equip (preferably maple)
    • Arrows: The best one you can equip (Preferably adamant)
    • Armour: Iron Full Helm, Iron Plate Body, Green D'hide Chaps, Green D'hide Vambraces
    • Extras: Amulet of strength, Strength potion, Team Cape (So you can one click attack people)

    Delays

    Normal Delays

Now here comes the part when timing is extremely important, so if you suck at that, I recommend either stopping, or practising more. What you need to do is look at your bow, and when the arrow leaves the bow, switch to the 2h, and attack the enemy as fast as you can. This may take some time to get used to, and I recommend you practise on monsters until you get used to it. Once you're confident with yourself, you can try the delayed switch.

    The Delayed Switch

A Delayed Switch is when you switch to your 2h when it is supposed to be your next range attack, and you will quickly wield you 2h and swipe, this is less predictable then just switching to your 2h when the arrow leaves the bow. To do this, you have to watch your bow and when the begins to drop to the side, switch to your 2h and attack as soon as possible.

    Miss click Delay

The main miss click delay is the 'One Step/Turn Around' delay, it's quite effective as it can make your opponent think you miss clicked and get distracted, then you turn around and kill them with your finisher.

The method of this is to click one step away from your opponent, click your 2h, and attack them as quick as possible. You should do this when your bow is being raised.

    Stack Delay

This Delay is called a stack delay because your hits literally stack up on each other, and this is why it's the best delay out there. Besides it being the best delay, it's one of the easiest as all you have to do is make sure that you are 2 spaces a way.

This Delay happens when you're 2 steps away from your opponent, no more, no less. Once you've gotten the opponent down to your maximum hit, you may now just do a delayed switch (when your bow goes down to your side, click the 2h and attack)

I recommend not doing this often though as it becomes predictable, and people won't like you for it, but if you don't care what people think, go ahead.

    General Pking Tips:

Don't safe, it's extremely annoying for other pkers, safing is when you eat food when you don't need it, and all that will happen is you running out of food, and getting owned, or running back to safety. You should risk, by this I mean not eating food because you think your finisher will kill them. I can't tell you whether or not to PJ, all I can tell you is that you will not be liked for it, but if that's not something you care about, go ahead (PJ, Player Jumping, attacking a player after they just finished a fight because they have low health/no food). Have respect, say gf after you or your opponent dies, but if you like, talk a bit of crap (We all do it).

    Conclusion

If you can get good at delaying, then range 2h's are one of the best F2P pures you'll ever use (IMO).

I had fun writing this guide and remembering everything I did.

    Enjoy ~Pedo Bear.

All alternate 2H builds kind of suck in Runescape, but still nice guide. ^^

You need to get to work on PK locations and strategies though.

Really? Maybe for P2P, but in F2P range 2h's pwn. They're probably the best for pking I've seen.

F2P pking isn't even a real thing. There are no good F2P pking items.

Get some prayer pots, d claws, veng, rocktails, overloads, staff of light, korasi, chaotic maul and ice barrage before I even consider you a pker.

If you're going for spec kills, then I guess. But I think it's kind of a dick move to attack some kid with a Dragon Scim then switch out a Godsword to special him.
